First, cleanse your face and apply an oil, cream, or serum so the stone can glide smoothly over the skin. The skin should be well moisturized, as this helps prevent friction and possible irritation. If desired, you can warm the stone in warm water for a relaxing sensation, or chill it in the refrigerator before use to help reduce puffiness. Always hold the stone at an angle of approximately 15 to 45 degrees to the skin—almost flat, never perpendicular. Apply gentle but firm pressure, and always move in one direction only, never back and forth. Repeat each movement three to five times, or more if needed.
